“Living on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island), Delvene Cockatoo-Collins is a Nunukul, Ngugi and Goenpul woman of Quandamooka Country, whose arts practice includes textiles and ceramics.  Delvene is a postgrad student in Indigenous Perspectives in Creative Arts at the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. Her practice explores stories of her family’s lived experiences on Minjerribah, and includes responding to representations of images and objects of Quandamooka.

Delvene is currently working on:  Jarjums Life Museum, a project capturing the lives of children living on Minjerribah and Hymba Yumba; local festivals; is in preparation to deliver workshops in May & June 2016 at the Festival of Pacific Arts in Guam as part of the Australian delegation; and her label Made on Minjerribah.
